To Grandmother´s House We Go
On Thursday after Milan´s last class we headed to the train station. Our destination? To meet Milan´s grandmother! She lives in Krefeld, which is about a 45 minute train ride. When we got there it was rainy and super cold, but she welcomed us with open arms.
Milan´s father and the grandmother seriously look almost identical ! At some points I was picturing his papa´s head on the grandma´s body! Oh the wonders of genetics! Her house was a typical grandma´s house —- the walls are full of photos of the grandchildren, children, and even their doggies. The language barrier prevented me from speaking a lot, but his grandma spoke the whole time! Kind of reminds me of my grandma. It was nice. I also met his aunt who lives with his grandma and also his uncle who lives in the house next door.
For dinner we had brötchen with various cheeses and meat. She had fresh salmon, which I was sooo happy for since I love it so much! The evening was good and full of laughs. We caught the train back home and didn´t arrive until 10.30pm.
It was a good day. :)
